Many small businesses in Texas followed the orders to shut down because of the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic. For entrepreneurs this has been a struggle because that means no income is coming in, while expenses continue to pile up. Natalie Harres of NH Hairstyles kept her Plano business closed for several weeks until she was allowed to reopen by the State of Texas. She was gracious enough to talk with us about how she is following the appropriate guidelines to keep her clients and herself safe.
Fortunately for Natalie Harres, her clients were quick to book her schedule solid for the next several weeks as soon as salons were allowed to open in the State of Texas.
On top of the requirements mandated by the State of Texas, some additional safety measures Natalie has employed:
Clients wait in their vehicles prior to appointments.
No client is admitted to the salon without a mask.
All clients are let in to the salon one at a time only, after notifying via phone of their arrival.
Thorough cleaning after each appointment.
An ample supply of gloves.
We visited Natalie after the interview and Daniel Burke was finally able to get his first post-lockdown haircut. Enjoy our video.

We drove to Celina to visit a (relatively) new BBQ destination called Tender Smokehouse. Some people we spoke to had been raving over the brisket and making some bold comparisons to other establishments that piqued our curiosity. Tender Smokehouse BBQ is currently located in downtown Celina, TX and just a 15-20 minute drive from the heart […]
The Fillmore Pub is one of the great pub experiences in DFW. They’ve got a strong beer selection, cocktails, great burgers, and likely the best Fish & Chips in the Metroplex. It is conveniently located next to the main Downtown Plano parking lot off 15th Street. There’s even some outdoor seating now. We recommend the […]
So you want to move to Dallas-Fort Worth from Western New York? Well you’re in luck. We also moved to the DFW area from Western NY and just happen to run a real estate team. Not only that, but we’ve been here long enough to figure out the answers to all the common questions people […]
When most people think of Frisco, TX, images of the Cowboys HQ, large mixed-use building projects, and top rated schools come to mind. But on Main Street in the middle of downtown Frisco sits an Austin based coffee drinking paradise: Summer Moon Wood Fired Coffee. Summer Moon serves all the standard espresso based fare you’d […]
Brisket is a tough and relatively inexpensive type of meat. It is the cut of meat used to make things like Pastrami, Corned Beef, and of course, Texas Style smoked brisket. It isn’t as simple as throwing on a grill and cooking like a steak, but with some time and effort, anyone can make amazing […]
We recently learned that according to science, eating BBQ is actually good for you. And if that is the case, then Hutchin’s BBQ in McKinney, TX might be the the very tastiest life prolonging experience in the DFW Metroplex. Bold Claim? Maybe. But here’s why: The Brisket is perfect. It has the right balance of smoke and seasoning […]
