The Frisco City Council unanimously approved a 9.4-acre mixed-use development that will bring the city’s first Trader Joe’s.
Trader Joe’s will be built on the southwest corner of Majestic Gardens Drive and Main Street on the western side of Frisco, close to existing HEB and Kroger locations. The 12,500-square-foot grocery store will be on a 3.22-acre portion of the site, with a 158-unit senior living community occupying 6.18 acres of the property.
The project is not without conditions: The Trader Joe’s and the senior living facility must be constructed in a single phase, and the senior living facility cannot receive an occupancy permit or open until the Trader Joe’s grocery store opens. That is solid work by the Frisco City Council.
There is no official timeline for the project, so for now Frisco residents will continue to drive to the McKinney and Plano locations for their favorite Trader Joes goods.
